As one other reviewer here said … “don’t dawdle, Race to your nearest music store and net this for yourself”. The most extraordinary Christmas Concert you could ever hope to leer, performed by five unbelievably ravishing and talented Angels. As a ‘bonus’, if you will, the Choir and the Orchestra are also in top design. They ALL deserve tons of credit for this performance. This was also a beautifully shot/filmed performance as well. The ladies never looked lovlier and the stage and lighting are also done to perfection.

Every, single number is stunningly graceful but … Some of the highlights are:

“Carol Of The Bells” (opening number) .

“Itsy-bitsy Drummer Boy” (beautifully done by Orla and Chloe and Ray on the snare) .

“The Wexford Carol” (again, beautifully done by the one and only lovely Meav) .

“Christmas Pipes” (is out of this world)!

and closing the note is …

a Tremendous Band rendition of “Let It Snow” (that is NOT to be missed)!

Devour and oh what a Merry Christmas, thanks to CELTIC WOMAN!!

Without a doubt Frank Henenlotter deserves praise for finding this film in some NYC basement. Ususally one who steers well distinct of fan adulation bordering on the insane, I must admit to being knocked for six by this incredulous mishmash of trashy delights. I’m stumped trying to remember any film that contains so many cross-genre elements and moments that border on surreal lunacy. HUMPP races and tramples other exploitation wonders in its contrivance into my top ten exploitation films. It now resides alongside such stalwart performers as PINK FLAMIGOS, as a totally novel peice of work. Recommended for those jaded with films that are over-hyped in the exploitation/ trash arena. This gem delivers the goods in all its original glory – stamping its signature as the most whacked out aroused scientist-raving bubblin’ brain-goateed swingers-lesbian fondling-monster-a-go-go EVER COMMITTED TO CELLULOID.

Hard not to laugh at this one. Purchase 1950′s atomic age sci-fi and combine it with 70s porn then shoot it all in magnificent dismal and white and you basically have the formula and direct for Dr Humpp. This is an out and out exploitation film, but it’s no belief 9 from outer location, it is reasonably coherent, well edited and acted with a straight face. Those of you who will bask in this curiosity know who you are and others need not apply. You could give it five stars for audacity or one star for a bogus location, but either design it looks to be harmless fun.

Yes, the special effects are very grand of the 1950s, but those effects are fun to watch–and unlike most other 1950s sci-fi/horror films, THEM! has a lot more going for it than special effects alone: piquant and aggressive performances, a cast of truly memorable supporting actors, a witty and shiny script, and best of all (unlike many other films of its era) a memoir that can collected generate plenty of suspense.

The grand-daddy of all mutant-monster movies, THEM! concerns a colony of A-Bomb-created giant ants that have lurked in the desert unnoticed until the colony begins to divide. When newborn queen ants steal flight, the world is in danger–particularly Los Angeles, where a nest establishes itself in the city’s largely forgotten storm drains. Edmund Gwynne and Joan Weldon give strong performances as the father-daughter scientific team sent from Washington to investigate, and James Whitmore and James Arness give able succor as the action-heros of the section. Fess Parker is also very effective in a little supporting role.

The genuine winner in the film, however, are the clever cinematography and sound effects that effect substantial suspense, particularly when investigators must enter the desert ant nest and later track the ants to their Los Angeles lair. These scenes occupy a claustrophobic feel not seen again in any sci-fi/horror flick until ALIEN. Without graphic gore but more than a few serious thrills, THEM! is a film the whole family can bask in.

In the 1950′s the world was testing A-bombs, Hydrogen Bombs, unusual results were beginning to appear & Hollywoods imagination was added to the theories. The results a series of movies about radioactive mutated creatures. The first was “THEM”.

It is wretched that this collection of Universal Dracula films were only released in this mega-DVD collection as a means of promoting the film Van Helsing, but the critical thing is that they were released – including the inimitably unusual House of Dracula on DVD for the first time. This collection inspired its have kind of bloodlust in my Dracula-loving heart, and I imagine all fans of Dracula and Universal’s classic monsters movies of the 30s and 40s have either already purchased this area or are saving up the money to do so. Objective study at the bounty of riches included here: the fresh 1931 classic Dracula starring Bela Lugosi, which you can concept with both its novel rep as well as the novel fetch aloof by Philip Glass and performed by the Kronos Quartet; the amazing and technically friendly Spanish language version of Dracula; Dracula’s Daughter (1936) ; Son of Dracula (1943) starring Lon Chaney, Jr.; House of Dracula (1945) ; an recent documentary, The Road to Dracula, discussing the making of the English and Spanish versions of the recent film; a commentary by film historian David J. Skal on the current film; theatrical trailers for the films; and, last and certainly least, a ogle at how the modern Dracula franchise influenced director Stephen Sommers in the making of his original film Van Helsing.

I waited a long time to gaze the Spanish version of the Dracula, and it lived up to its reputation. A worthy more complete and compelling version of the film, aided by an additional half hour running time, this movie equals or excels the English language version of the film in all ways – except, of course, for the performance of Bela Lugosi, who simply is Count Dracula. As for the Lugosi version, I’m torn between the two scores. As a traditionalist, I tend to favor the recent find, but sure scenes, particularly those tantalizing Dracula’s predatory reach to his victims are made distinguished more considerable with the addition of the Glass come by. Either intention, though, Bela Lugosi is the main attraction, and his iconic performance defines Count Dracula to this very day.

The three Dracula sequels vary in quality, none of them living up to the reputation of the fresh. Dracula’s Daughter takes the legend in an enthralling direction, giving us a vampire who seeks befriend in freeing herself of the Dracula curse, and Gloria Holden gives a formidable and nuanced performance as the daughter of the Count. Son of Dracula, on the other hand, glorious great lays an egg in my notion. The only spicy thing about this movie is the debate over the moral identity of the Count – is he Dracula? the son of Dracula? a relative of Dracula? In the slay, it really doesn’t matter, but it seems certain that the blood of Bela Lugosi’s Count Dracula certainly doesn’t speed in the veins of “Count Alucard” because this current bloodsucker on the block isn’t the smartest vampire in the castle. Many Dracula fans will of course be aware of the fact that Lon Chaney, Sr., was the unique choice to play Dracula in the 1931 film; his death opened the method for the relatively unknown Bela Lugosi to lift on the role he had already played hundreds of time on stage. In Son of Dracula, Lon Chaney, Jr., gets the chance to don the cape; Chaney earned his set of fame in the Universal monster pantheon, but he didn’t glean it as the Count – his performance is nothing short of dull, aided not one iota by a surprisingly primitive script from the hand of Curt Siodmak.

The addition of House of Dracula to The Dracula Legacy Collection is a very tremendous deal, for this is the first time this film has found its plot to DVD. House of Dracula is a really exclusive film, as this sequel of sorts to House of Frankenstein features not only Count Dracula, but Frankenstein’s monster and the Wolf Man as well. John Carradine plays a quite pedestrian Count Dracula, while Lon Chaney, Jr., plays the Wolf Man; Frankenstein’s monster is played by Glenn Unique, but the monster plays only the most minor of roles in the epic. The action takes area in Vasaria (wherever that is), where Dr. Franz Edelman (Onslow Stevens) is pursuing his gain rather wacky scientific experiments, placing expansive hope on some original kind of spore he is growing in his private dinky hothouse. Both Count Dracula and Larry Talbot (the Wolf Man) advance seeking his help; Talbot’s wish to banish the Wolf Man manifestation from his life is understandable, but Dracula’s reasons for seeking assist are never made certain. In the course of trying to assist these two special patients, Edelman runs into the body of Frankenstein’s monster in a cave underneath his sanitarium (in a rather ho-hum fashion, no less) . As you might question, this association with three monsters turns out to be a terrible thing, leaving Edelman in a glowing dreadful fix himself. It’s somewhat difficult to choose this movie seriously, but it does provide some wacky obliging fun in a campy sort of contrivance.

There is a dinky risk enthusiastic with purchasing The Dracula Legacy Collection, but the rewards are worth the risk. Unprejudiced be careful opening the case – even if both of the DVDs (one of which is double-sided) remain in area, you are likely to pick up a miniature knob underneath each one honest dying for the chance to scratch a disc.

THE DRACULA LEGACY collection is a nice package including the unique DRACULA starring Bela Lugosi in an iconic movie that endures on. Also included are the Spainish version of DRACULA (shot on the same sets at night as Bela’s version!), the sequels — DRACULA’S DAUGHTER, SON OF DRACULA, and HOUSE OF DRACULA (all three monsters present up for the finale) . You win five movies, and some substantial extras. Like many reviewers I found one disc rolling around the inside of the package. Fortunately it was not scratched! That’s the only downside to these collections I have found.

You earn the 1931 fresh appearance of a cinematic DRACULA! With two soundtrack options – listen to it in its new almost mute version, or chose the revamped Phillip Glass soundtrack version. Todd Browning who directed this classic was foremost a calm film maker, and DRACULA was designed to be shown in theatres with and without sound. So its almost creepier and more effective to notice it with its long spooky silences intact. But Glass is a vast musician, and I luxuriate in his soundtrack as well. It really depends on mood. And for fun check out the SPAINISH version which passe the same sets. Beautifully shot, and considered by some technically suited to Browning’s film! It uses more camera moves and visual effects.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dracula – The Legacy Collection (Dracula / Dracula! Click Here

The other films are a string of B sequels that are level-headed a lot of fun. Gloria Holden as DRACULA’S DAUGHTER is surprisingly creepy and troublingly lesbian in tone. She only attacks women! SON OF DRACULA is campy fun with Lon Chaney Jr. sailing through smokey swamps. HOUSE OF DRACULA is the ultimate monster mash with Frankenstein, the Wolfman, and Dracula making appearances in this last sequel to the Universal monster franchise before they all appeared in an Abbot and Costello movie that killed them for a while.

But they live on! My only beef with the extras is one where Stephen Sommers talks about how DRACULA influenced VAN HELSING. I don’t want to tie my 1931 version of a classic to this year’s Summer Hit. But in a design it proves …

“X Marks the Place” offers up episodes 7-9 of the first season of the tantalizing series “X-Men Evolution” that airs on the Kids! WB network. The series, focuses on the core group of Professor X, Cyclops, Jean Gray, and, of course, Wolverine: (7) “Turn of the Rogue” (Aired February 3, 2001) is the episode where Rogue discovers the truth about Essential Darkholme on a Geology Club field plug to some underground caves and finally decides to turn her befriend on Mystique and throw in her lot with the X-Men; (8) “Spykecam” (Aired February 10, 2001), has Spyke working on a school assignment to document teenage life using his digicam, unbiased as Sabertooth attacks the Institute looking for his extinct friend Wolverine; and (9) “Survival of the Fittest” (Aired March 3, 2001), starts with the X-Men attending a survival school and ends with Mystique releasing the Juggernaut from prison to go after his brother, Professor X. The site is so terrible that the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Immoral Mutants have to join forces to consume down the Juggernaut. This is the third of four vidoes covering the first season of “X-Men Evolution,” which covers a lot of ground in getting all the merry mutants together. All three of these episodes are above average in terms of this particular series. Interestingly the display manages to save off the first confrontation with Magneto until the final pair of episodes, to be found on the next tape.

I mediate this is the high point of season one. The next volume wasn’t as suited. A fun series if you’re a Marvel or X-Men fan.

This DVD was shot in HD, so the snow is crisp and well defined. The DVD was played on a plasma TV. The views are of differing scenes of a wooded position. There are forests, fences, logs, streams and ice covered brush. The snow is as shapely as you could imagine–with gigantic and miniature flakes swirling in the wind. The snow is accompanied by soothing Christmas music, played on guitar and piano. The tunes are:

Deck the Halls, Joy to the World, The first Noel, O Arrive O Arrive Emanuel, Away in a Manger, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Oh Christmas Tree, Angels We Have Heard on High, Calm Night, We Three Kings, Carol Of The Bells, It Came Upon A Midnight Obvious, We Wish You a merry Christmas, Coventry Carol, O Holy Night, and Auld Lang Syne.

First of all the guy who gave the one star review doesn’t know what the heck he’s talkin about. This is a re-release from Bandai Entertainment/Bandai Visual USA. Since Bandai Visual has the rights to GITS this release is as authentic as you pick up. The fact the disc will reach with retranslated subtitles (Subtitles, not captions for the hard of hearing), three Dolby 5.1 audio soundtracks (Japanese, the English dub produced for the UK R2 DVD, and a recent commissioned English dub) and Directors commentary makes this release ten times better than the pitiful Dreamworks release.

This is a re-release of the Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. If you’ve seen the originally released DVD, you know that it wasn’t available with an English soundtrack- it was Japanese only with English subtitles. I’ll consume the re-released with the hope that the English dub does justice to the dialogue, which tends to wax philosophical. In the event the English doesn’t do the trick, it can composed be watched in Japanese with English subtitles. If you haven’t seen this fabulous film I strongly suggest you do– it’s visually!Heavenly! The storyline is complex, yet compelling.

With all the “PC” nonsense in this world today, it’s nice to leer a comedian who doesn’t streak on egg shells or pull any punches. Lampanelli is like a female Don Rickles who isn’t a racist, but enjoys poking fun at the differences in all of us. While I didn’t salvage this particular explain to be one of the funniest I’ve seen, I did luxuriate in that fact that every speed was given equal time with insults! Lisa Lampanelli may not be the funniest comedian, but at least she is telling everyone to lighten up and laugh at ourselves!

Let me originate out by saying that in my book LL can do no outrageous! Even on her worst day, she is funnier than most. After loving Dirty Girl I ran out and bought this DVD. While I enjoyed it, I did not feel it was was sophisticated or cutting edge as her previous outings. This concert seems to rely too heavily on name-calling and some really unfunny knock-knock type jokes. She seems to have less interaction with the audience this time around (one of the strengths of her lives shows) and unprejudiced uses them to call names without noteworthy actual depth. She has a few moments of brilliance and the rest is ok. Also, both Lisa and her fans are not easily offended, but I felt like she feeble a clear derogatory racial slur too worthy in this production, especially since it was not connected to a “bit” but was unprejudiced ancient to cuss someone out. This DVD is peaceful astronomical fun, but not a must gain.

I saw this movie less than five hours ago, and not surprisingly, Lindsay Lohan has caught my attention with her amazing acting talents, and the map she seems to waddle into the characters she plays! Anyway, this is how the movie goes, but I might not be 100% distinct at some parts, since I’ve only seen the movie once:

Fifteen year ancient Mary Cep, (She calls herself Lola, because she says that evers since she was five years primitive, she knew ‘Lola’ was her fair name) and her single mother and two younger sisters proceed from NYC to Unusual Jersey. As if it isn’t hard enough adjusting to a unique suburbal town and unusual school, a group of those glowing, accepted, snobby girls we all cherish to abominate won’t derive off Lola’s aid from the day she arrives. Luckily, she meets a modern friend (I forget her name) who is a very wholesome, genuine girl, and together, they both embark on adventures of a life time, such as meeting their all time celebrated rock star, and even having coffee with him! Lola fulfills her dream of being a notorious actress by the extinguish of the movie, and as you can predict, the snobby gang gets backfired in shame and humiliation! It’s a very predictable movie, but it’s fascinating and attention trapping, nontheless. I reccomend seeing it, mostly for a mother and daughter day out, from ages nine to fifteen. Luxuriate In!

This is the type of movie that belongs on TV. Lindsay Lohan is multi-talented and charismatic as “Lola” who feels like a fish out of water when her mom moves from NY to NJ. She wants to be the drama queen in more ways than one, and engages in making up stories to label peers in her original town. The drama instructor character is a bit annoying, and the battle for acceptance among teenage girls is becoming a cliche. The music in the film is OK (Lohan sings multiple songs, and this movie features another shroud version of Bowie’s “Changes,” recently included in Shrek 2) while the whole storyline about Lola and her not-dead dad and the Sid-Arthur concert are like something from a TV comedy demonstrate or TV movie. This movie is aimed at a young audience and it shows. That said, this movie is handsome for what it is, but it could have aspired to more, especially at the raze where things are wrapped up too fleet.

If you remember the monkeys shouting “Boil That Dust speck” you might be disappointed with this video. It is not the unusual inspiring short you remember but in fact is a 94 remake. This is more accurately, “Dustin Hoffman reads Horton”. Instead of proper animation it is detached pictures from the book with minor animation effects. My daughter peaceful likes it, but it’s not what I expected.

There was no tipoff in the Amazon description telling me that this video was only moderately intelligent. I remember a fully tantalizing version from when I was a kid and this was not it. My minute boy, who loves being read the chronicle, didn’t care very distinguished for this.

Hoffman’s character accents kept changing throughout his narration. The audio quality was muffled and sometimes hard to understand.

Personally, I don’t understand why this format of animation is even stale. Except that you can set aside your kid down and journey away, there is no heightening of the experience over simply reading the book.

I gave it a second star because it is a terrific book and the video presentation of the book can’t be all awful based purely on the subject matter.
